My first picture: Convent of Fahr
I guess you always have to celebrate the first picture on a long journey. This is supposed to be a famous convent but I didn't visit it but just walked by and took a picture. 20th March 2009 in Fribourg/Berne
On the March 17th I finally reached Berne and stayed there one day, that is, I stayed in a village called Zäziwil because, for the parliament's spring session no hotel rooms were available in Berne. The hotel I in Zäziwil is called Unique Hotel Appenberg and is just wonderful. As I had never really been in Berne I made a tourist excursion on March 18 and that was a really wonderful day. I walked through the old town and just relaxed.
The next day I took off at 10am with the aim to reach Fribourg at around 7pm. Unfortunately, the blisters on my feet which started forming on the 17th became so bad that I had to stop the walk at around 4pm and take the train to Fribourg.
So there I am looking at places and taking care of my feet. Over night it has become a lot better and I think I can continue my journey tommorrow.
Actually, tomorrow will be the first day I will follow the official Camino de Santiago, because until now I had made up my own way. so I am very much looking forward for tomorrow.
