I find myself on a train again heading towards Zurich as the last leg of my amazing European trip. I absolutely love this train trip through the Swiss Alps. The views are stunning. This is the second time I have been privileged to make this journey, and I really tried to soak it in. You never know if you will be on this path again, so I wanted to just stare out my window and take it all in. I took some photos of some of the amazing beauty I saw, however I am not so sure the pictures will do justice seeing they were taken from inside a train going exceptionally fast.
Upon arrival to the main train station, I felt familiar seeing I had been there before. I was not as intimidated as I am sometimes when I get to a new destination not knowing where to go and what to do. I make my way out, and after a pretty long walk, I find my hostel. It was not that it was so difficult to find, it was just a small hike from the train station and my bags were heavy and feet tired. At least the
weather is better this time around. I check into the hostel and out to explore I go. I only have one day here, and I really want to try to absorb all of the beauty Zurich has to offer in a small amount of time. This is really impossible, however I gave my best shot.
I make my way to the center of town, and there was a festival going on with many activities for families and kids alike. Everyone seemed to be having a delightful time. I walk around the street and cross a couple of bridges and took some beautiful shots of the mountains in the background of Lake Zurich. The air was crisp, and it just felt so fresh. I can't really explain in words, but it felt like a different atmosphere I was breathing in my lungs. Not to say there was not pollution in the air or smog, but it just appeared cleaner.
I spend several hours just walking around taking in the sights, smells, and beauty of this city. I realize this was my last day so I tried to really enjoy and reflect what I have been able to see and
do over the last several days. I make my way back to my hostel and pack up my belongings. Once again, I am so thankful and blessed to be able to make these annual European trips. God has richly blessed me, and allows me to see what beauty this world has to offer. Tomorrow I would be returning to the grind of everyday task and chores, but for now at this moment in time, what a wonderful blessing that has been bestowed upon me.
