Magnificent!
Don't know what this captain is up to but we have been late to a few ports, missed out on Colombo, and now not docking in Stockholm but at a small port outside called Nynashamn, 60 kms outside Stockholm - the boss not happy Jan - been down to customer relation desk but there is nothing we can do! Told that traffic congestion in Stockholm as well as fog forecast so that is why we are docking in Nynashamn - bullshitters hmmmm! Anyway docked in Nynashamn around 8.00 a.m., bright and sunny day!!! Fog??? Onto the provided shuttle buses into Stockholm by 9.00a.m. - quite a nice drive through a national park and were in Stockholm by 9.45a.m John has been here a couple of times when he was working for Sanvik in the late 80's but new city for me!. First stop down into Gamlastan, the old part of the city, lovely walking the ancient cobble stoned lanes and streets. Stopped for morning tea break and best coffee we have had so far - but asked for three shots to get a bit of flavour!!!! Crossed back over a bridge, so many bridges and canals here too, to enter into

Old cobbled streets
the downtown area, spot of shopping, visited St Clara's Church, back to Opera House, very beautiful! Whilst trying to find a toilet found this gorgeous outdoor cafe/bar in the opera house perched up on a first floor verandah, decided we could only afford a liquid lunch!! Two beers $30!!! Anyway it was great overlooking the old town and the harbour, soaking up the local atmosphere.

Great sail out from Nynashamn, can’t believe that there are 30,000 islands in this archipelago, it really is so pretty with all the boats, such a cold climate and they still love their boating so much, the photos do not do it justice. Weather has been pretty perfect 20 degrees here today, Sunrise was at 3.28a.m.and Sunset 10.04pm so the days of sunlight changing dramatically.
