Yesterday was a beautiful day. Woke up feeling less jet-lagged which was nice! After a slow start, we headed off to a small town just north of Stockholm called Sigtuna. This town is known for its ancient church remains (11th century) and its long pedestrian shopping street. We walked all around the town and the shopping street and mostly just bought a few snacks but enjoyed the walk and the town. We found two churches: St. Peters and St. Olof's and walked around the grounds and the cemetery of St. Olof's. The graves were quite different from what we see at home. Both are under renovations for visitor safety reasons. Nigel made an astute observation in one of the parking lots. He noticed that there was a license plate with the letter "S" on it (indicating country code) and was surprised there were people here from Spain! Russell pointed out that all the cars had an "S" and that it more likely stood for Sweden. Then we reminded him that we saw "E" for Espagnol on another trip. We headed home and made a brief stop to take shots on Russell. Back at home we had a visit from parents of

the mother whose house we are staying in. We sat out on the patio and chatted for a couple of hours and enjoyed some beer and good conversation. They also brought a load of swag from the local soccer team, Djurgarden, for us. They had lots of suggestions for things to do and we will see them again later in the trip when we go see a soccer game. After they left, we had dinner, Swedish meatballs, and then more bike riding and soccer before bed.

Today was another nice day. A little overcast but perfect for bike riding! We headed into Stockholm on bikes and Nigel and Russell were in charge of navigations and Rachel and I just followed. We made it in to the city and wandered around on our bikes for a while so that Nigel could figure out the layout of the city. The ride in was almost exclusively on bike paths (separate from cars and pedestrians) which was great! We all felt very safe and enjoyed the ride. Then we parked the bikes and went to the....wait for it......ABBA museum! Yes, it is a big tourist trap but hey (no Swedish intended),

Sitting near the cemetery
we are in Sweden. It was pretty cool and we saw tons of memorabilia and pictures of them and all while accompanied by their tunes! So, not a bad way to spend an afternoon! Then back on the bikes to cycle home. All that bike riding has left us quite tired so we are gonna relax this evening. Scroll to the bottom to see all the photos.
