After an eight hour layover in Dallas and a ten hour flight I am in Madrid. Arrived at 10 in the morning, although my biological clock said otherwise. Have stayed awake so far. Walked around the Plaza de Sol and sat in a outdoor cafe watching the hustle and bustle of the city. I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Leave for Pamplona in the morning.

National Park Service Ranger for 20 years and then a Bureau of Land Management Recreation and Wilderness specialist for 15. Enjoyed the ranger life, as it was so varied that I never got bored. Law enforcement, search and rescue, structural and wild land fire, emergency medicine, technical rock climbing, natural resource management and helping visitors to the park.
