We continued northwards and the coastal strip became far more built up. We passed through Alicante with its elegant sea front and marina and around Benidorm with its amazing number of tower blocks, it must difficult for anyone staying there to find their way home!

At the end of the day we visited Garath and Liz Jones’ house at El Portet de Moraira which is situated in a lovely bay on a peninsula north of Benidorm. The night was spent at the local campsite.
