Cambrils-Salou

Cambrils is a small little town with the beach as the main attraction. The campsite is just a little walk away from the centre of town . Got the bikes out and cycle there for the afternoon. We longed the beach up and down, the weather is just nice around 22. It’s just haven.
The next day we cycled to a bigger town called Salou situated some 7 miles away on the coast. We had lunch at a McDo in the hope that they’ll have WiFi . But unfortunately they didn’t have any. Anyway the wifi was just an excuse; Linda wanted a bigMac! We ride back was up against the wind and more strenuous.
We are so comfortable in this town that we decided that even though there isn’t much to see or do, we spend 2 or 3 days here. Just relax, for us and the van.

Benicassim:
Abbes recommended Benicassim where he spent a week in the summer for a music festival. It isn’t a bad place at all. The campsite is top class, the beach front is palm trees lined and the town just unspoiled and typically Spanish. It has

a train station so it will used a springboad to visit Valencia.
Again we got the bikes out and went on a mission to find the train station and the timetable/cost to Valencia.
Unbelievable the return ticket to Valencia is only 5Euros. The distance is at least 50miles away. It seems that public transport are really cheap and nothing like that at home. £3.75 day return Solihull to Birmingham UK!
Just a minute, why am I thinking about home, B’ham etc… We are in Spain, just relax!!!…….

Valencia

Took the train at 8am and by 9:15 we were in Valancia. The Office of Tourism in the station gave us a map and some directions of what to visit. The station building itself is a beautiful historical building and just outside it a magnificent bullring circular arena. The post office, the tribunal, the open market the cathedral etc… every building is a masterpiece on its own right. We walked the dry river bed boarding the town and enjoyed 2 hours in this most beautiful public garden/park we have ever seen, and then a new city of Arts and Sciences emerges in the horizon like a landscape out of

an alien planet.
Valencia is a city where old and new architecture live side by side but somehow kept respectfully apart and it worked brilliantly
