We packed up our rental car and headed into the "newer" town of Cuenca. For breakfast we went to a funky little pastry shop on the Main Street. This place, very popular with the locals, is right out of the 1960's, with waiters who wear formal white jackets and black bow ties.

We head out on the highway for the 5 hour drive to the Costa Blanca, in SE Spain. Along the way, we spot a castle on a dramatic hilltop, in Almansa, and stop for lunch. The castle is closed for repairs, but lunch is good.

Eventually we reach the location of our final home exchange, El Albir. Our new home is located on a hill above the town. Albir has a Mediterranean climate which means hot summers with mild winters and very little rain. It is said Albir is blessed with over 300 days of sunshine a year making it an ideal holiday destination pretty much all year round. Our home has fabulous views of the valley from its many patios. After settling in we headed out from groceries before returning home and checking out the pool.
