Now, where were we…..oh yes, we had just left Valencia – a mere four months or so ago. My goodness, what a lot has gone on in that time, so dear readers, if you all come a bit closer and sit down by the fire, I shall bring you a bit more up to date… We dusted down Claude, which, to be honest didn’t really make much difference as he is now in full desert camouflage colouring. BLOG 6 Sunday 20 May – continued from last time when we’d freecamped at Villaneuva de Algaidas with the two other GB vans............what a boring lot they were. In the morning we watched one of them empty their loo cassette then drive away (thrilling) and there were no signs of life in the other van, apart from a blind been opened then closed.........perhaps he’d dun ‘er in?! Anyway it was an off day – more showers than sunshine and some downright downpours. Friday 3rd December – Friday 10th December 2010 Travel to Camping Las Madriles, Isla Plana via Alicante to top up our gas supplies. During the trip unfortumately adding a stone chip to the windscreen that progressed to a ten inch crack top centre. This campsite has a superb outdoor heated pool and an indoor pool which we made the most of whist hoping for a quick windscreen replacement. Other facilities include table tennis and boule which we also took advantage of. Unfortunately it became clear that a quick resolution to the windscreen problem was unlikely with a couple of bank holidays that week and Christmas on the horizon and we were advised to press on to Marbella where we had previously booked arrangements for Christmas, New Year and January. ... read more
