I have to apologise for publishing Monica´s last entry before she had had a chance to edit spelling etc! On Tuesday 24th we left the comfort of our Pamplona Hotel, having enjoyed a meal in the Michelin starred restaurant the night before. We had to limit ourselves to 2 glasses of wine as we were walking the next day. This was a shame as the wine was included in the price of the meal! We had a surprisingly pleasant walk out of Pamplona as the Camino path (which was very clearly marked) went through the parks and out past the University. Tues was very much a testing time for my feet and for my new sandals. They seemed to be very comfortable and I was able to walk up the Alto del Pedron quite comfortably. We ... read more

Finally here! Today has been really hot. I probably drank four liters of water before noon, which really was needed. It's also very easy to notice that one is in Spain now. This area is much dryer than the french side on these latitudes. The trees are often thin and squiggly, like they're also craving for water. It is very nice to finally arrive in the afternoon. I slept for a couple of hours when I arrived to this hostel run by the municipality. A little more than 40km today, from Cizur Menor, close to Pamplona, to Estella.... read more

At the moment in Lorca, not far from Estella. Yesterday was really nice, I made it 45 km without feeling too sore anywhere. I met more Swedes, more people from France and Germany, even Korea (again). Yesterday was mostly downhill, which made for quite nice relaxing rides. Today is more uphill, and as the paths are less covered by vegetation, it is much hotter. Will probably sleep in Estella this night.... read more
