Santiago - Saleta Sanchez Ponte, my saviour in Santiago - Put me up in her flat so I could rest my weary feet.
Santiago de Compostela to Fisterra
The next day my friends went to Fisterra by bus and I needed to see a Doctor about my feet pain. After getting a bus to the hospital and getting some medication, I was walking up the street trying to get a bus back. I met Saleta Sanchez Ponte, my saviour in Santiago. She walked back with me and showed me a short cut to my Hostal, then she gave me a key to one of her empty flats so I could rest my weary feet for as long as I needed to. We dinned together and later she took me on a tour of her city (old historical areas) and we had a lot of fun. Saleta showed me ‘The Three Marias’ statues (now only two left). These ladies were once real people - seamstress sisters who used to wear their most fashionable attire to attract young students.
The next morning I decided to take a bus to Fistere and walk up to the light house to watch the sunset.
I came across some horse mounted pilgrims; I wondered why throughout the whole Camino I never met any. Apparently horses are only on the trail

Fisterra - Sunset at Faro de Fisterra or End of the World, with Isle of Centola.
between 6.30 to 9am.
In Fisterra I visited the Church of Santa Maria, it used to be an ancient Pilgrim Hospital and also across the famous stone marking the end of the world and 0.00 km.
The Lighthouse O’Semaforo is situated on the Eastern side of the Fisterra and the Albergue of Peace in the Western side of the Fisterra. The views from Castillo San Carlos are the magnificent shallow beach of Praia Riveira.
Asked a local to give me a lift down as my feet just could not go much further.
After a good rest I walked along the western side of Fisterra, it has the beautiful coastal area known as Praia do Mar de Fora with hills of Monte Pion at 210mt. The hospitalero Dago Alboa took me in his car to watch the sunset at Faro de Fisterra or End of the World; it was spectacular with Isle of Centola in view.
Before getting the bus back to Santiago the next morning, I walked around the town including the beautiful fishing harbour with its tranquil sparkling waters in the early morning by Praia Riveira
On arrival to Santiago I managed to see a special mass in honour

of a bishop from Italy and got the completing Botafumeiro ritual. Tried to get hold of Saleta but was unable to I left the key of her unit in her letter box and booked a train to Madrid. While I waited I went for a last walk around the Alameda gardens.
