We have been talking about visiting this town since we first heard about it while in Cangas, but just hadn’t been able to make good connections. The Porta Mina or Carmen Gate is the best preserved of all gates dating back to Roman times. Note how narrow it is.

The 5 newer gates are easy to identify as they are much wider as they were designed for ease of access to the city. Most of these were added in the late 1800's & the early 1900’s.
