Ana's Entry:

Yesterday we arrived in Madrid, Spain after a long evening of travel. Our hostal is in a very central location- we are close to La Plaza de Santa Ana- a gathering place with lots of Tapas resturants, Puerta del Sol (the center of Madrid), and the world famous Prado Museum. The Spanish in Madrid is a bit different- I keep forgeting to say grathias, as opposed to gracias, for example. Our room is very clean, but really, really small. However, we have a large patio- Pam is sunning as we speak!. We also have wireless internet.

Last night was like a family reunion! My parents (Barbara and Howard), my nephew Andrew, my sister Selina and her boyfriend Ramesh are also in Madrid, within walking distance of our hostal. Pam's parents are in Madrid until Tuesday as well. We all linked up last night and got a bite to eat- first at a famous Tapas bar that specializes in Patatas Bravas- a delicous potato dish, drenched in a special pimenton sauce. Then we went to another bar/resturant and had delicous lamb, fries, squid, shrimp, gaspacho and sangria. Everyone eats dinner much later here. It doesnt get dark until nearly 11 pm.
