it's pretty late, but just wanted to let everyone know that i've made it to madrid we'll be leaving on the 9th to head on to Barcelona and finally get settled in.

we're staying at this hotel located in plaze del sol, which is supposedly a very popular plaza and are just down the street from another called plaza mayor, another very cool popular place.

my flights all went pretty well miss my connections flight issue in heathrow, i'd suggest going thru gatwick after that experience, but i made it! I meet up with another student Jorge who flew in at the same time and we took the metro w/ all of our luggage to our hotel...i have to tell you that was a pretty ridiculous sight to see. us trying to navigate all our our luggage up and down steps...my arms are still sore!

I've meet alot of people so far, theres only one girl from A&M and shes very nice the other 5 texans are from TU and luckily they haven't rag on us any yet...but maybe we've bragged a bit about winning this year!

We went to el escorial today a beautiful monasterio, i've taken a lot of pictures which i hope ill get up sometime after i arrive in barcelona, and we've gotten to walk around a bit in madrid also.

so far everyone seems very nice, this place is amazing and so different from anything i've seen but i'm still missing everyone at home quite a bit!
i love you all!

Thinking of YOU
Good to talk with you today. You'll have two voice messages you can delete??? Tried a couple times both of your phone numbers and seemed to get to the same message, which is in spanish? But, I think it's your voice message service. There is a distintly different ring on your 34 number vs the US virtual number (which sounds like a normal ring) but still got the same message with a beep on the end... which is why I believe it to be phone message service. I believe will just use the 34 number once we get some confidence in it. I assume the 5 other Texans are from UT... if TU??? Pati and I are excited for you in your adventure. Chance of a life time. We are very proud of you. I thought your bags may be a bit unrulely... you may want to purchase a longer strap in order to tie them a little better together. Bet ya looked like tourists. Don't know I'm bolging the right way. This too is a new experience. We miss ya too, but know you'll do just fine with all your new found friends sharing the experience. All for now... Love Ya... DAD
