After arriving at Madrid-Barajas Airport, we swiftly went to our hotel, the Don Luis. After a quick unpack, a change out of our uniforms, and showers, we arrived at Restaurante Rubaiyat around 2 PM to grab a well deserved lunch. We dined on tapas plates of cuttlefish paella, rice, squid, pork rinds, and other local delicacies. After finishing off our miniature plates, we hailed a cab again and traveled crosstown to Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, Spain’s premiere bullfighting ring. The crowd there was loud and raucous; our adrenaline was pumping. There’s nothing like a man entering the ring with a bull almost 6 times his size. We never saw anything graphic, but the risk of that happening was high. These men were professionals, who knew how to avoid danger with a red cloth in their hands. After a brilliant show, we exited the arena. Realizing we were low on time until the race was over, we hurried back to the hotel, and b-lined straight for the airport, and headed for our last, and closest destination: Mexico.Country Visited : Spain
