Our kind chauffeur aka my Mother In Law Judy, drove us to the airport, Alex my Husband still had no voice, a great start to the vacation, although peaceful!
Flew from Almeria up to Madrid on. typical Air Nostrum little CRJ jet, just an hours flight. Arrived in Madrid Barajas, long walk throuh the new Terminal 4 to the luggage belt. (what is this obsession with building HUGE new terminals where you have to factor in an extra 2 hours for your check in just to get from one area to another)
Straight outside and on to the Hotel shuttle bus.
Spent the night in the Axor Barajas Hotel, lovely modern hotel with fab tasty breakfast!! Anyone who knows me will know I am a sucker for a Hotel breakfast!
Oh, did I mention our luggage was overweight (I had the great idea of putting 1 suitcase inside the other, leaving the large one empty for shopping in the US) Anyway had to re pack in Madrid!
Oh and nearly got arrested for taking a photo of the Iberia aircraft! Wll post that one later.
