We crossed the Millau viaduct in the early hours such an amazing sight, I never tire of it, such sylph like beauty towering out of the mist and the little lights of the town of Millau many metres below; for some wonderful photos of the viaduct and a brief description visit the architects website at http://www.fosterandpartners.com/Projects/1158/Default.aspx

We stopped off at the Millau péage rest area for a couple of hours rest before continuing our journey on to Beziers, which we were please to discover has or rather will have an excellent bypass when it's finished. Beziers the last but one bottle neck on the route south, the other being the circumnavigation of Perpignan which unless you've done it before is a nightmare, especially as I'm banned from taking the slower but more direct route through the centre ville due to the 3.5 Tonnes limit.

We wanted to be at Carrefour's in Narbonne for around 09:00 for our last stock up of French cheese, wine, Royal trout, and a few other things. Fortunately we made it there on time but didn't top the tank up as we know from experience that fuel over the Spanish border is much, much cheaper. On crossing the border I was amazed to see so little difference in the fuel prices diesel is around €1.32-€1.39 depending on the % biofuel in the mix previously it was around 20% below UK prices

We arrived at the site in Estartit at 13:30 only to find it closed (despite ringing them last year when they confirmed the site would open on the first) Fortunately I noticed José the owner and after a warm exchange he explained that the receptionist should have said the site was opening 1st April to get ready, but not for customers! Anyway he said it wasn't a big problem, although most of the facilities weren't ready, we sorted out our pitch and settled in.

By this time there was a marked improvement in the state of my thumb the swelling was slowly subsiding and now there was slight movement, Horrah!! It's a hot and sunny 24oC today so now all we have to do is just get settled in.
