Sagrada FamiliaSagrada FamiliaSagrada Familia

Most amazing piece of architecture. Ever.
Considering we slept until about 10:30 on Saturday, we got a late start. We all had wanted to visit the Sagrada Familia by Gaudi. If anyone doesn’t know the story - it is a temple designed by Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi. The Construction started in 1884 and through the construction stage, Gaudi continued to make changed to the design and plan. In 1926, Gaudi was killed - hit by a tram and died. Construction was stopped for awhile, however has been continued since. Because of all the changed made after construction started - no one knows how to finish. The temple is still under construction, and will be for quite some time.

The Sagrada Familia is probably the single greatest piece of architecture I have ever seen. It is so amazing, I can’t even describe it in words. After visiting there, we found our way up to the Parc Güell. I don’t know the entire story there, but Gaudi designed the park as an urban garden. His house is among the park, so we visited there too. It was really interesting. The park was gorgeous, and it’s too bad it was overcast, because the view over the city could have

been amazing!

After that, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. We found this restaurant, Gardunya on a map we had of the city, and thought we’d give it a try! It was right by Las Ramblas, and that’s where all the night life it apparently, so we headed there. It was amazing, we all had fillet with different sauces, and we had dessert - again, too good for words. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.

After dinner, we walked around the area to find a club/bar/pub anything to go to. We walked down one street and it was all Irish pubs, so we picked on and went in. It was decent - we kept running into the same people - we met a group of Scottish guys, some Spanish guys and an Italian. I feel like we kept running into Italians. We did leave Italy, right? Any-who, after that bar, we went to the dance club we’d heard about - loud music, expensive drinks…just what we need! We stayed there until - I won’t say - pretty late.

So then again we found our way back to the hotel, and got

a good night’s sleep in our amazing beds.
