In our hotel we see a sign in the elevator that says on Dec 24 and Jan 5 that the elevator is reserved for Santa Clause and the 3 Kings. Kings day here is the big day to give presents….. Nicky, Tim, Susan and I took off to grab a quick breakfast, get some money out of the ATM and find a present for Hector. I suggested a Smart Box. I love these and sure wish the states had them. You buy a type of book, like lodging, food, adventure…. And in it are a list of places all over Spain where you can get hotel nights, food or whatever the books says, for free. We bought an adventure book and a food book for him. We went back to the hotel to wait for Hector and Susan made a bow around the gift out of the plastic bag. It looked great. We then exchanged gifts with the kids. Hector txt’d us and said he would be there about 11:50. Around 11:45, we checked out and stored our luggage at the hotel. Hector met us and we did a

the cathedral they wanted their kids baptized in quick walking tour of the town.
Our first stop was the Palace or king Phillip II. When he was born, he was baptized in the church nearest the palace’s front door but when their children were born, he wanted them to be baptized in the church at the back of the palace, but you HAD to get baptized at the closest to the door so they came out a window so they would be closer and had the children baptized at the bigger church.
Our next stop was the sculpture museum. The first one we went to was the Bethlehem city one. It had the whole city scene including the 3 wise men on their camels. We then went into the larger museum and saw wood and plaster canvas sculptures from the 14-1700’s. They were mostly all church related. We then went to the extension that had reproductions of Greek and Roman sculptures.
After that we walked the town a little more, then ended up at a restaurant that his uncles own a stake in. Of course, which wines did they serve, yes, the Emilio Morro ones. We had a series of appetizers and then some small

One of the kings, part of the Bethlehem scene plates and deserts all served with the wonderful wine. we did have these seafood croquet and they were black and we also had some wonderful grilled octopus . His dad joined us near the end but couldn’t eat as he was having a medical procedure in a couple of hours and had to have all food out of his system (if you’re over 50, you know the procedure we are talking about).
After lunch (it was around 4) we walked to the big “field” but it was a large park. We walked thru and saw peacocks and just some beautiful scenery. Now it was time to leave. We head back to the hotel and pack the bags into Hectors car and he takes us to the train station. We all say our good-byes and Hector has tears in his eyes. I’m so happy he enjoyed our time in the city as we thoroughly enjoyed the time with him and his family. As a going away gift, we all got a bottle of their wine. What a treat.
Our train ride was quick (a little over 30 minutes) and we arrived in Segovia. It was night (around 8) and

more of the scene we took a taxi to the hotel. As the taxi drove into the city, we could see the huge aqueduct that Segovia is known for. It was all lit up. We arrived at our hotel and Nicky and Tim gave us the slightly larger room and it has a rock entrance. We pulled some stuff out, checked a few things on the computer, then decided to go out and get just a bit of food. We decided on getting a desert and found a place up near the square and order our sweets. Afterwards we sat around and talked until about 11 then headed back to the hotel. I worked on and posted Monday’s blog and then went to bed.
