We have now left the hustle and bustle of city life behind and we are in the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park. It is in the mountains and we had to drive along some very wiggly roads to get here. Today we went on a big hike. We drove about 10km from the hotel (which is very alpine chalet like) to the start of the trail. We then walked to Laguna Grande. It took us about 3 hours. There was a hut there (Refugio Elola) which is where hikers can sleep. Very conveniently it had a restaurant so we had some soup before we set off on the hike home (well the car park) The walk was really good even though we were exhausted at the end.
