Ron: Saturday 22nd Left Potes and made our sinuous but beautiful way back along the gorge to the coast. Made better progress than anticipated so carried on past Santander to Islares. The campsite is situated between looming mountains and the sea. As we pitched paragliders floated over our heads. Eagles and vultures were using the same thermals. The local town of Orinales is accessible by beach at low tide. There is a big tidal range, the beach by the campsite reduces to the size of a tablecloth at high tide. There are thousands of small crabe exposed on rocks by the falling tide which are great fun to try and catch. We has excellent tortillas in the cafe overlooking the small harbour which was excellent. This is another very Spanish family oriented site with late meals
