Nuestros pies en la playa..
Mel and I relaxing on the beach at Playa de la Concha...(keeping the feet pic tradition alive 3711 folks)That is the one word that comes to mind when I want to try to describe San Sebastian. We pulled in via bus around 3 in the afternoon yesterday...San Sebastian is a smaller town, about 180,000 people, nestled against small mountains that tower over the Cantabrian Sea...our hostel is amazing, a small historic house owned by VIrginia who is one of the most welcoming and comforting women we´ve met thus far...feels like home, comfy beds, lots of little nooks and crannies to journal, balconies overlooking a school yard where spanish children are laughing and playing football and raquetbal...when we arrived it was raining. IN fact one of my favorite things about yesterday was falling asleep to the rhythm of the rain, reminded me of the Pacific Northwest. THis morning we woke up to completely blue skies...Blair, Melissa and I ran to the top of Mount Igeldo...great run that took us along the coast and then winding up through a small neigborhood to a great view of the Cantabrian Sea and La Playa de la Concha in San Sebastian...when we got to the top we just stood and looked out at the view for about 20 minutes...Since then Melissa and I have

Melissa, Blair and I after we ran to the top of Mount Igeldo...the views are amazing...F4L...it reminds us of Catalina :) spent the day at the beach, reading up on our eurail passes and attempting to improve our spanish skills with some spanish books we picked up at the book exchange at our hostel...I´m trying to read El Mundo Perdido (The Lost world) in Spanish...tonight we´re going to get some fresh veggies from the market and make a big salad with cheese and kidney beans in our hostel kitchen...write again soon!
