Hi I was wondering if you were still in Japan. Obviously, this answers my question. Glad you had a great time. I have really enjoyed your blog. Good luck.
Unfortunately, when I visited Japan, I didn't get a chance to try some of the dishes that you describe in your blog. I really enjoy your entries. I hope you keep 'em coming.
So Great! Sarah, what an amazing experience!! Your family seems so cool...how generous and welcoming! And soon, you will have more family out there for you to share your life in Japan with. Keep the updates coming! Love, Maria
wow This is amazing, they sound like such wonderful people, I got a kick out of the part where you went to pick up karen and all her friends were like who the heck are you!?! HAHA i can just imagine that, it's so cute. Well I'm so glad you had such a great experience. They sound so so nice. AMAZING. I love you, Jess

Me encanta ver tu cara tan hermosa. Te quiero te quiero te quiero! BESOS
awesome Hey Sarah, Awesome that you got to see this festival. I, too, have never heard of this story. But Japanese culture generally favors odd numbers so I'm not surprised about the 7th of the 7th...
Cinque Terre Definitely looks like a Japanese version of Cinque Terre. The picture with caption "and another view" looks almost exactly the same as Cinque Terre except for that tree on the left definitely looks Japanese. Awesome cousin!
Hey! I just ran into your dad at Costco and he told me about your site--thanks for writing about your experiences (never been to Japan, but now I can just experience it through you and see your awesome pics!!) Take extra good care of yourself--your health is priceless :)
Keep the stories coming!
Don't be discouraged You hit it right on the head, teaching is never the same from 1 day to the next. It is challenging, complex, and can be frustrating. Just realizing that is a great learning experience for you! You are and will continue to be a wonderful teacher and person. I love you and totally enjoy reading and looking at the pictures of your trip.
Kisses and Hugs, Aunt Susan
Hi sarah,
I love reading all your posts, but I especially loved this one so much hearing about a typical friday teaching in another country and all your insights on teaching. It just touched me! I loved it!
meep meep dad and i loved reading about your day and random thoughts, where are those emails that you said you'd write now that you have internet?!??! haha just teasin, love you lots!!!!!!!!!!! jess and dad
Sushi on the sly I appreciate the Italian shoutout below the Pulpa photo.
I thought I'd toss in my two yen...
Pulpa is Italian for Octopus.
Taki is Japanese for Octopus.
That picture of Mount Fuji s beautiful. Reading about how cold it gets up at the top is wild. When you have a break this summer, that should be around the time that the whole mountain is open for climbing, as the temperatures won't be as dangerously cold up at the top.
Love the pictures! So glad to see what it's like out there! You must be having so much fun learning about the culture... and trying all that crazy food! Those tea fields look amazing by the way!! Can't wait to hear more about your adventures! :)
