Normally weeknights here are pretty slow since we all have school and homework to do. However, last night Danielle, Kayla, and me went out to get some pintxos and to just get a drink and to relax and talk after a stressful day. But that quickly turned into a pretty crazy night. We ended up at Tas Tas and well lets just say that we drank a lot and didnt pay for a single thing. The bar tenders gave us shots and sangrias, pretty much anything that we ordered and they never made us pay. It was awesome, although, the next morning was not so awesome. But it was still a really fun night out with the girls. Then today we made a nice dinner and invited Oier and Iker over for dinner. We made roasted chicken with peppers and onions and rice. Also Oier brought over an appetizer that is really popular in the Basque country called "angulas de lomo negro," which are baby eels that are eaten whole and raw. He didnt tell us what they were until after we tried them, but surprisingly they were pretty tasty. After dinner we hung out with Oier and Iker and they

talked about their views on Basque separatism and the ETA. It was really neat to get to hear from a Basque person firsthand their feelings about the whole situation and it was actually surprising to hear their opinions which were quite different than what i thought they would be. Also we talked to them just about what they thought of America and Americans, which we had learned that many people in Europe had a huge prejudice of dislike against Americans. But Oier had studied for four months in Chicago and he absolutely loved it there and Iker wanted to travel there and improve his english as well so we all got along great. All in all we had a nice night together and i will be really sad to leave and not get to see them anymore. They have been great friends to us while we have been here, showing us around, introducing us to their friends, and helping us with our spanish. It will be sad when we have to leave.
