Well, this weekend was hilarious and horrible and the best and the worst.

Explanation:

Friday night was really funny. First Katrina dressed me in her clothes. Then we sat outside by the pool with Katrina's Spanish dad, Enrique, drinking rum and cokes and listening to Bob Marley. Later, we left to go to the paseo (a place where a lot of bars and restaurants are together) and Marieangeles (Katrina's Spanish mom) was coming home at the same time and drove us. However, she drove us to this bar that Katrina had lost her camera at so that we could see if it was there. So we get there, it is gross, camera is not there. We leave and are ready to walk home. Then we see this door/restaurant sign that we really like so we try to take a picture of ourselves in front of it. That is when the owner of the restaurant comes by and says 'i will take the picture' and then someone else comes by and the owner gives the camera to him instead and tells him to take the photo. So he does. Then the owner asks us if we want to see the inside of the restaurant. We say yes, and in two minutes I realise that I have been to that restaurant with my family. It is owned by gypsy flamenco singers. SO COOL. He was funny and gave us a quick little tour. We left and continued our walk to the paseo, taking photos along the way, and then the restaurant owner passed in his truck and told us that he was going to the paseo because he has another restaurant there. So we accepted the ride and ended up at the paseo MUCH sooner than expected!
Once there we went to a bar called el Casino. Had a funny time. Met two men called Esteban and something else. Left with them to go somewhere else. On the way we met two other guys called Eloy and David. Katrina rode on David's Vespa. Ditched Esteban and the other guy. Met two guys from the Civil Guard, Alberto and Eleazar, they took my number because they want English lessons. Walked around a bit with Eloy and David, they were funny. Then as we were just thinking about how we were going to get home, Alberto and Eleazar pull up and offer us a ride home. Clearly we would not have taken it, however, Alberto is the head of the Civil Guard in Palma and Eleazar is a Sergeant. Pretty decent people to be friends with.

My family's friends came for the weekend and everyone was freaking out before hand. When they were here the family was being really weird. Ramón padre especially amped up his 'humour' which is pretty much to make fun of me and bother me as much as possible. Generally this does not bother me in the least. He tries to intimidate me by standing really close to me and looking down his nose at me and I just look right back. But this weekend things were different, I was tired and annoyed that I had to chase the baby around all morning. I had gone out the night before until quite late and so was tired and felt a bit under the weather and was just not in the mood to deal with Ramón hour. Anyway, I had the afternoon off which was wonderful. Went to Katrina's and laid in her bed and watched the Office for hours, at around 8h30 we decided to take a quick nap. When we woke up everything was pitch black. Katrina asked me what time I thought it was, I said 11h00. Turned out to be 1h30 in the morning! So we decided to get dressed and go out anyway. There was a party being held at the only disco in town, called Orange, of course. The party was until 7h00am so we had plenty of time. On the way there, Alberto (CG) pulled up in his Civil Guard car and asked us where we were going and why so late, etc etc. A nice boy... man. We decided to go to el Casino first for a couple of drinks. Drank those drinks. Observed the white clad masses ascending upon Orange. It was a White Party. We did not wear any white at all. So we decided to go, finally. We get in, pay the cover, walk inside, and it is TOTALLY lame. We order drinks and are rather miffed at the turn out... wondering WHERE all of those people dressed in white were actually going! Until we look further into the club and see the dance floor. Strobe lights and smoke obstructed our view before. So we finished our drinks and went back there to dance the night away. After a while of dancing Katrina decided she wanted another drink. By this time we had met a couple of guys who were kind of just standing around us while we danced and taking weird pictures from time to time. By weird I don't mean weird, I just mean awkward. So Katrina goes to get another drink, credit card in hand, so I knew it would take a long time. In the meanwhile, I danced... like a crazy person, Carlos and ----- (don't remember his name, let's call him Pink shirt) stood around and just introduced me round to their friends when they passed. I mean, they swayed a bit, and drank their drinks and smoked their cigarettes, but we were opposite entities, to say the least. Anyway, the night progressed, more dancing, we ended up walking around asking people for 20 cents so that we could buy another beer. Woo. We got it and went to the bar in the back and first had to wait a while. Then some really short guy with hedgehog hair kept asking me what I wanted to drink, I told him I wanted a beer, and then he proceeded to try to push his little body up to the front of the bar. Did not happen. Katrina and I got our beers, which was only accomplished with some serious flirting on Katrina's part. The little hedgehog that could ordered us shots of SoCo which I vehemently turned down. An excellent call on my part. Then we returned to the dance floor and at this point it was like 4h30-5h00am but we were still going strong due to our 5hr nap! So then Katrine met José and I met Pedro and we ended up leaving the club at 7h00am with them to have breakfast. I cannot explain how surprised we were that it was light outside when we went out. Once out there this old man in a three piece suit and tie also emerged from Orange and apparently everyone knew him. His name was Joaquin and they kept telling us that he was the owner of some cheese company. He was very funny. He took my number ... also for English lessons... and his phone had a photo of his grandson on it. Hahaha. Anyway, we take a lot of pictures, some other guy shows up from somewhere and gets in on the photos. We talk about what to do and first decide that they should take us home. So we are almost home when we decide we want to have breakfast, so we drive back in the direction we came from and go to some breakfast place where EVERYONE seems to be from Orange. That was nice. We ended up getting home at 9h00am and falling asleep... until 11h00 when my family came outside and decided to play music right outside my door and scream. Woo. Woke up. Had breakfast number 2. Took a shower. Put on sunscreen. Went to Katrina's house as fast as my little legs could carry me. When I got there she had just woken up as well. We laid in her bed and watched the office for a few hours. Then took a walk by the river and found some wonderful sprinklers which, as it turned out, were spraying water from the perpetually brown river. Whatever. It was well worth it. Then we walked to the park by the paseo and chilled there and things. Until 8h30pm when we had a date with Alberto and Eleazar. Said date could not have started ANNNNYYYYY more awkwardly. So five minutes before they come, we need to use the washroom, all of these restaurants are outside but have washrooms on the backside and they never have toilet paper. So Katrina asks this woman for some, and she brings over this HUUUUUUUUUUUGE roll and it was hilarious and Katrina took a photo of her. Meanwhile I am in the washroom. I come out, Katrina goes in. While I am standing there waiting, the woman comes over to me and is standing next to me, I thought she was also waiting for the washroom with this newfangled invention of toilet paper. I look over and Alberto and Eleazar are walking towards me and I go and greet them. Katrina comes out of the washroom and greets them and then we have some weird conversation with the old woman and figure out that she wants to see the photo that we took of her. THEN we are about to go to dinner, this other woman from the same restaurant calls Katrina over and says loudly in Spanish: 'Your dress is inside out!!!! Is it supposed to be or was that an accident?' Hilarious. It was on purpose. And totally looked inside out. We were not looking our nicest for this dinner date with the Civil Guard. Anyway, dinner was really fun, they took us to an ice cream shop afterwards and then to Eleazar's apartment to show off his old movie posters. Alberto told me that in Spain my hair is like a lightbulb.
Monday night we ended up going to el Casino with José. I went to the washroom a lot to give the two of them time alone. Tuesday night, went to a place called Picolo with José and some of his friends. They were funny. We were the only ones there.

That is pretty much all for now. We are going to Granada on Friday morning until Monday morning, I think. The kids are just fine. Cecilia is sleeping over at her cousins house since last night. The weather is beautiful and VERY hot. Things are good. Things are great actually, could not be any better.
