Another side trip from Cadiz. Vejer de la Frontera 1 is a municipality Spanish in Cadiz province , Andalucía . The core of the town is nestled in a mountain about 8 km from the coast. It has a walled historic center.The village still retains significant castle and several churches. The municipality includes a stretch of coast to the Atlantic Ocean where it sits El Palmar de Vejer , a small tourist resort. The economy depends on agriculture and small-scale summer tourism.

Vejer is only 1.5 hrs south of Cadiz so was easily doable in a day. Not advisable to arrive in the scorching afternoon heat during siesta time with a bad hangover though!
