Tiramisu
Definitely stopped into a postre (dessert) shop on the way to the train station after class!! Record breaker: solomente 4 fotos hoy... I only took 4 photos today and 1 wasn't even to do with Sevilla...just something I had to send the helpless desk at school.
Tonight is going to be short. I'm so behind in my homework that I stayed up until 3:30 yesterday and it's going to be probably almost 2 today. It's easy to get behind when you don't know what you're doing. It would be ok if I understood it in English, but some of the grammar that comes naturally to me...well, if you try to explain it in Spanish and I never paid attention in English...
This morning it rained for the first time since I arrived. Approximately three drops. 😉 Seriously, it started to sprinkle when we went into class, was not even drizzling during break, stopped by the next break and was much brighter by the end of the day. Was cooler but still around 80...for us that's cold now. :P Tomorrow will be back around 90... which is around 35C.
We took our time taking the train back from Dos Hermanas (which really isn't that much later...but later enough to explore the shops right by the station for 15 mins). Could only take a 20min siesta since I had SOOO much work to do. Then after we get to class I find out that we're not even discussing the readings til Tues! (or is it Thurs? I can't remember...our class schedule has changed a bit because of conflicts with our extra-curricular activities--cooking tapas & Sevillanas dance). Luckily I finished and only have to read a little bit over again since I'm not sure my speed reading skills were holding up at the end. We had a brief discussion in class before watching La Mariposa (Butterfly) which was about the beginnings of the Spanish Civil War. What a sad end to the evening! I thought it was a really good movie but it wasn't a very happy one!
After class we made a brief stop to the Cafe/Bar down the street with Churros con Chocolate. Just went for the chocolate (choc-o-latte) today...and a Coca-Cola (which I NEVER drink at home but it's a novelty here so I just have to, lol). We literally must've talked to the camarero (waiter/bartender) for an hour or so and the convo went everywhere from talking to him in Spanish, him making fun of our accent...and kindly fixing it (hielo = yellow...if you know Spanish, you'll get it. If not, remind me and I'll say it for you :P), helping him with English words since he really doesn't speak English and he taught us new words as well. It was a lesson in and of itself and I think we entertained him for a while... I actually had an old guy sitting on the other side of the bar laughing at me trying to speak Spanish. I then told Gabriel (the camarero) that I've only been here for 5 days!! I'm doing well considering I haven't even really tried to speak much Spanish in 12 years! After he heard that he decided my skills were more than acceptable. I'm not quite to the point where I'm thinking on my feet quickly enough (we taught him that phrase too, lol). We popped into the heladeria and spoke to the lady in there briefly too. It's tons of fun to learn from the locals--practical language skills.
Since then I've been doing tarea (homework), tarea, y mas tarea... And now I'm going to bed because I'm too tired to think any longer!
Buenas Noches!
