I’m way too tired to write out a post so I will save details for later. Arrived at 130am 2 days ago and found an awesome place near the airport to spend the night. Trekked down to city center. Hostel is awesome. Area is borderline meh but it’s on the edge of greatness and close to everything so we can walk everywhere. Little shopping and exploring yesterday. Acropolis and Pláka today. Love Pláka. All the food has been amazing. Tomorrow I take a boat day trip. I won’t even tell you the number of photos I took today alone. I’ll attempt to upload a few. Today I traveled to Sweden by train over the very long bridge to Malmö. I checked before I left to make sure I had my passport and for the second time (or third?) helped someone with directions. I apparently look like I know what I’m doing so I guess that is good? This couple was from Istanbul and had a nice conversation with them while waiting for the train. Wouldn’t you know that it was my luck that border control came to check everyone’s passports? This does not happen every time. Just for the lucky people I guess.. They were walking down the aisle checking as I was getting mine out and wouldn’t you know, it wasn’t there! Yes. I don’t know that I would recommend choosing to essentially do a day trip on a layover after flying to Europe and having a timeframe…especially having not traveled internationally for a bit. Canada doesn’t count. Navigating transportation was a comedy of errors that necessitated rushing around, which is not very fun when trying to see things! Anne Frank House I’m not quite sure how to describe the house. For me, with everything I have studied, it was more about the experience. I chose not to pick up the audio tour. I could hear it on others’ speakers but really wanted to just see the house and be in the rooms and understand the annex from the perspective of being there.
