Rhonda
Hey everyone!
So wel finally made it to Malaga... finally. It is really nice down here. It is in the upper 60s every day. MY family is nice and my roommate is really nice too. We have been having alot of fun. There was a huge carnival downtown that we went to last night. It was really cool. There were people all dressed up in costumes all over the place and different stages with people singing and comedians and dancers. It was packed. It was really cool to see. Tonight we are going to the beach for the first time because they are havign fireworks down there. Spain is really cool. Everything is small here... the apartments, the cars, the resturaunts, the people... everything except the food. We have been eating so much food that we havent been even close to hungry since we got here. The food has been really good though. Yesterdat we went to a little city called Rhonda. It is about 1 1/2 hours from Malaga on a bus and it is WAY up in the mountains. It is really pretty because all the buildings are white and really close together in the mountains. It is also

really old. We saw many really important houses of royals in spain and where many famous writers and poets got inspiration for their work. The city has a lot of arabic influence, and we saw one of the old arabic baths which is actually more of a community center and meeting place than just a bath area. It is the only one left in spain from when before the arabs were kicked out of spain by the Catholic church. It was really cool. We also saw one of the oldest bullfighting rings in spain, which was really interesting. Everything is really cool here, except that it never rains so the whole country is like on a water shortage and water is really expensive. You cannot get free water anywhere. You have to pay for it at every resturaunt. It is wierd. Electricity is really expensive too and these people do everything possible to save electricity. Even in the hotels all the lights are motion censored so that they are not on unless someone is there. It is crazy. But, everything has been fun so far. I hope you are all having fun and I miss you lots.
Love,
Meghan

These are the holes in the ceiling if the arabic bath building that let in a perfect amount of light no matter what time of the day or year it was... They were small anough to keep the heat in too.

All of those trees are olive trees, and they cover pretty much all of Spain. They are everywhere.
