the pub we ate
We loved Sevilla but we had to leave. Before we talk about the next place near Gibralta, a little more abourt Sevilla. The little local pub-cafe, where we had our meals, is a real get together for the locals. The woman in charge of the kitchen, is a mountain. with the loviest personality. Smoked hams hang from the ceiling. Every night we were there. An older couple came there just for a coffee. Every one knew them and greeted them with huggs and kisses. The last night a man came by with a little first aid bag. He put rubber gloves on, gave the old man tablets to take. Put drops in his eyes and washed them out with an eye bath. He cleaneed the old man's hands, packed up and got in his car. We were amazed at what was happening. We needed to know, so Liz went to his car and and asked if he spoke English. Just a little. Liz told him that we noticed what he did to the men sitting at the cafe. Was this a Government service. He smiled and said; No That is my Grandfather. Well that says it all about these people. We

just loved seeing this. After Liz guideing the car out of the garage we set course to Los Barrios, that is close to Gibralta. We did not take freeways to see more of the country side and that we did. We were sent over very small roads and bad ones as well. The views were magnificent. Fields of sun flowers, grapes and olive trees passed by. Through townships small and big, tiny little streets, that we had to drive oh so slow not to touch anything while passing parked cars. We arrived about 2 p.m. and of course at the wrong place. We had to ask a few times before we found out we had passed it. No wonder, on the ouside was a different name. A young man even came back from his parked place to point out that this was the right place. We settled in and had a look around. We were in an Industrial area. Never mind, there were a few places where we could eat. That was important. Next day promised to be a big one. We had a good breakfast and decided to take the car. Buses were very iregular. We were warned that

there would be traffic jams and there were. Lucky Liz found a park, it only ment we had to walk a fair bit. But it was all worth it. Gibralta is nice. The old inner city within it's ringed walls. The only place you can see two continents and three countries at the same time. To save time we did a tour there, the best way to see everything. Amazing that you have to walk over the airport tarmac to reach the city. You are stopped by traffic lights when a plane arrives. Amazing, we did the lot. You have to do this. We saw Europa point, the caves, beautiful, the monkeys, very cheeky, and as last the tunnels. It certainly is an impressive rock.
