Over the site where the camp was, this small, white church steeple stands out again the dark trees.

You can see the level land and foundations.

we normally give little thought to stairs, but when the cement structures are all that's left in a place like this, it's a bit eerie.

the cement foundations lay scattered with little waist high plaques saying what building it was in 4 languages.
and it was quietand it was quiet

the air is still when you walk into an area like this. The grate was added later for safety, but this hole in the earth is where the dead were crudely cremated.

This monument lies across the street. It surrounds a strange statue and tells some of the history of the camp.

This strange statue seems to be celebrating freedom.
