Me and a waterfall
So we have finally arrived in Slovenia. That's right, Alex and I (although I did all the driving) have gone by car from Dubrovnik all the way to Postojna, Slovenia. The drive along the coast of Croatia was very beautiful. We had the opportunity to stop in various random towns and cities and really see what the country is like. They have a very interesting culture and I have enjoyed learning about it. After a relaxing morning at the beach on Brac, Alex and I drove to Supetar to catch the ferry to Split. We spent a few hours wandering around split and seeing the famous Diocletian's Palace. However, we left after a while. We stayed in a really small town near Split last night. It was the basement of some old women. Someone we met in Brac recommended her to us. It was very interesting. She was very nice (I think) but did not speak English or German or Spanish (Alex speaks the last two). After dropping off our things, we drove a bit further to Trogir where we roamed around and had dinner. The next day we continued our drive. We spent a little time in Zadar, checking

out the sites, listening to the sea organ, and having lunch. Then we drove to Plitvice Lakes National Park. From the amount of pictures I posted from the park, you can only imagine how much I enjoyed it. I felt the lakes were so beautiful and the waterfalls were amazing. After the park, we had a long drive and finally arrived at a hostel in Slovenia. Tomorrow we plan on doing some great canyoning in the karst caves.

The rest of our plans are still not figured out. We might drive through Vienna, we might skip it all together. We might drop off the car in Ljubljana, and use the ferries or take it all the way to Prague. We also may use the site www.couchsurfing.com to sleep on someones couch and meet the locals, or we might stay in a hotel. It is very exciting to travel like that. I will be sure to keep you all updated. I have less then a month of travel and I am going to make the most out of every part of it. Talk to you later.

Amazingly blue lakes. They were so clear and beautiful, due to calcium carbonate in the water. Travertine.
