A nice place in the heart of the city lined with quaint cafes and people basking in the sun.
It has finally arrived: the sun is shining, the birds chirping, the people are out in force in the outdoor cafes, and the world becoming painted in beautiful hues that give added color to everyone’s life. That means that it’s time to be outside; to enjoy the rustic and beautiful city of Ljubljana.

Today, the sun was shining and the temperature was hovering around 18 degrees centigrade (64º F). The course that I was supposed to have today was cancelled because the professor was vacationing in Montenegro. So, I decided that it would be a good afternoon to get outside and go for a jog in Tivoli park which is right by my flat. Connected to this park is a 32.8 km (~20 mi.) tree-lined path called The Path of Remembrance & Comradeship. This path commemorates the time during the Second World War when Ljubljana was occupied by the Italian and German armies and the city was enclosed in barbed wire. quickly arrived at the jogging path and was immediately sucked into the tunnel of trees that formed a canopy over the soft dirt path. Anyone who has done much running in their life knows how nice it is to leave the unforgiving terrain of the pavement and move onto the soft mattress a dirt path provides. It really helped to make the run quite relaxing and effortless, allowing me to really get lost in my thoughts, or maybe it was the lack thereof, I’m not sure—I was flowing. Then quite suddenly, out of nowhere, a sharp crack of thunder brought me back to reality, and the rain began to come down. But it was one of those nice rains that you want to sit out on your porch and enjoy. So, I looked up and began to run faster, relishing in the splashing of the cool water on my skin. Me and nature and about 3 km (1.5 mi.) for me to cover before I arrived at my flat—during this time I began to think of something—it’s funny actually but it says a lot about the way we look at the world because some people walk in the rain and
