It's time for some pictures!
Yesterday was a whirlwind day of sightseeing - we pretty much covered all of the touristy places in one day. The gold domes of the cathedrals in the Kremlin were beautiful, and I think St. Basil's is what Jack & Jill's gingerbread house must have looked like. I've also learned most of the Cyrillic alphabet - perhaps Russian is my true calling in life??
Some highlights from the last few days...
- the most delicious hot chocolate EVER for breakfast. (Ann, this was even better than churros con chocolate in Madrid...didn't think that was possible, did ya??)
- man dressed up as matryoshka (Russian nesting doll) and waddling around in front of souvenir shop
- choir singing in the Archangel Cathedral in the Kremlin
- meeting 2 hot Aussie guys who are going to be on our train tonight - get ready for "private time" on the train!
- brides, brides and more brides in Red Square...apparently this is the photo spot for all just-married's in the city
- Pic #3: So basically, you stand on the gold circle, toss a coin behind you, and then some homeless
people pick up the coin. And if you're not sure what to do, the homeless guys are more than happy to show you. Makes you wonder whether it's the most brilliant plan in the world for the homeless men to make money?!?!
- Jenkins' adventure with Russian warriors!!!
Scene: Creepy Hostel Guy walks into our room and sits on the bed
CHG: What is your name?
Lauren: Lauren. What's yours?
CHG: (mumble mumble...) Is this your bed?
Lauren: No, I'm just sitting here. Is it yours?
CHG: (weird guttural laughing sound...)
CHG abruptly stands up and leaves the room. No goodbye.
