Magadan - מגדאן

אחרי נסיעה מעייפת וארוכה מזרחה, הגענו למגדאן -עיר קטנה על חוף האוקיינוס השקט. להרבה רוסים השם מגדאן עושה קונוטציה של בית סוהר, בגלל שבתקופה הסובייטית העיר שימשה בסיס למחנות העבודה, אבל בשבילנו החוויה הייתה הפוכה.

ביום שהגענו, פגשנו את מקס מקאוצ'סרפינג, שלקח אותנו קודם כל ל"באניה" עם כמה ידידים שלו (מי שלא יודע מה זה באניה שיקרא את הפוסט על יקוטסק). את יום המחרת בילינו על חוף בקירבת העיר ולמדנו קצת מהרוסים איך חיים טוב. עם חכה של אחד החבר'ה שהצטרף, דגנו את הדג הכי מוזר בעולם.

אולג שפגשנו בבאניה, עזר לנו למצוא מוסך ראוי לשמו לטפל באסתר לובה, עשה לנו סיור לילי ברחבי העיר וביקרנו איתו במועדון נוער לחינוך צבאי. באותו יום גם הגיעו שני כתבי טלוויזיה ששמעו עלינו מפה לאוזן וצילמו אותנו לכתבה בתכנית שלהם.

אבל אין ספק שהשיא היה "ארוחה ישראלית" שבישלנו לחבורה של מקס: התפריט כלל חומוס, פיתות, שקשוקה ועוף בתנור, שהאכילו 10 אנשים וזכו לתגובות מרשימות.



After a long, tiring trip east, we reached Magadan, a small city on the Pacific coast. Fro many Russians Magadan makes a connotation of a prison, because in the Soviet-era it was a base for the labor camps, but for us, the impression of it was the opposite.

On the day we arrived, we met Max from Couchsurfing, who took us first of all to the Banya with some of his friends (to know what's a Banya read the post about Yakutsk). We spent the next day on the beach close to the city and learned a bit from the Russians about how to have some good time. With one of the guys' rod, we fished the weirdest fish in the world.

Oleg, who we met at the Banya, helped us find a proper garage to take care of Ester Luba, took us to a night tour around the city and took us to visit a youth club for military education. On the same day, two TV reporters who heard us through word of mouth filmed us for an article in their program.

But there is no doubt that the climax was "Israeli meal" that we cooked for Max' friends: The menu included Hummus, Pita, Shakshuka and grilled chicken. We fed 10 people and received execellent responses.
