There are quite a few things to see in and around Bucharest, the Mogosoaia Palace being one of them. Built around 1700 for Constantin Brancoveanu and rebuilt after WWI, it is a nice place to visit if you have two hours to spare. Although it is very close to Bucharest, the place is very quiet and the scenery is beautiful. The park, the lake and the buildings themselves are well taken care of. Unfortunately, the inside of the palace does not offer much to see, unless you are a fan of modern art.
