I flew to Munich on the 7th of October, flight HV 9132, and I returned to Copenhagen on the 10th, with flight HV 9131. Both flights were on time and I was happy enough with the company operating them (Transavia). I rented a car for the whole period - a Fiat 500X - and I spent all 3 nights in Puchheim, at Das Seidl Hotel & Tagung. On Saturday, I went on a short roadtrip to the castles of Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, but I did not visit the interior of either of them. The small hike up to Neuschwanstein and then to Marienbrucke (the bridge that offers a spectacular view of the castle) was quite nice, despite the less-than-ideal weather. Also, walking around the gardens at Linderhof is a pleasant experience. On Sunday, I went ... read more

I was in Grenoble for 3 weeks for a summer school. So, of course, one of the weekends I had to drive somewhere. I decided to go for a roadtrip around Geneva lake, to the beautiful Chillon castle, and then to cross the Alps to Chatel, and then to Chamonix. I rented a small car and instead received a Renault Scenic III, which meant we had more space. We stopped in Annecy for a couple of minutes and I dropped off 3 of my passengers there, then we proceeded to pick up someone from Geneva, where we also had lunch, then drove straight to Chillon - which is beautiful. For the night, we stopped in Chatel, at Hotel les Triolets (which was quite nice), then in the morning we drove to Chamonix, then back to Grenoble ... read more

I left on Monday night with WizzAir flight W6 3209. I got to MMX on time and took the Flygbussarna to Sodervarn, from where I walked to my hostel. On Wednesday morning, I walked to city centre and saw the Malmohus and St. Peter's church. These weren't so impressive, but the city itself is very nice, cozy and green and peaceful... I then took the train to Copenhagen and walked around a lot... And finally I went to Lyngby, where I was too tired for much sightseeing (and there's not that much to see anyway). On Thursday morning I headed towards DTU for my interview, then I headed back to Malmo (via Copenhagen, of course) and then home on flight W6 3210 (also on time, but the buses that were supposed to take us to the ... read more

Oh, it was such a busy week... After a quiet weekend in Bunesti, we left on Monday towards Deta, via Tg. Jiu and the Danube Canyon. We stopped for a boat ride and it was great :) Deta was also surprisingly nice, with a large cathedral and nice houses. On Tuesday we left for Timisoara, stopped for coffee in city centre, then continued towards Szeged - a beautiful small city, and finally to Budapest. We went near the Danube at night to see the city - the Parliament and the Szechenyi bridge looked even better at night than they did in daylight. We spent Wednesday wandering through Budapest, exploring both Buda and Pest as much as possible. On Thursday morning we went to Vienna and walked around city centre, then spent the afternoon at Schonbrunn. In ... read more

While having the main headquarters in the camping at Rasnov for the Rockstadt Extreme Fest we also went exploring the fortified evangelical churches in Transylvania. On Thursday we saw Cincsor - Cincu - Dealu Frumos - Agnita - Alma Vii - Richis - Copsa Mare - Biertan - Apold - Barcut - Soars. We entered only Cincu, Richis, Biertan and Apold because the others were closed. On Friday we visited the Rasnov citadel, walked around the town and spent more time at the concert. On Saturday we saw Feldioara - Rotbav - Rupea Fortress - Viscri - Bunesti - Cloasterf - Saschiz - Sighisoara - Darjiu - Daia - Drauseni. In Feldioara and Saschiz we only stopped at the churches and did not visit the citadels because Feldioara is undergoing restoration and Saschiz is in ruins. ... read more

I've been living in Bucharest for 18 years and I tend to walk through it without looking around much. At some point, I noticed that there are some wonderful buildings in this city and that, even though most of them are not very well taken care of, there are still plenty of things to see here. This is more of a photo album than a trip and I hope it will grow over time. There are plenty of beautiful things in Bucharest that I haven't seen and plenty others that I've seen too often and became used to pass by without a second thought. I intend to change that.... read more

There are quite a few things to see in and around Bucharest, the Mogosoaia Palace being one of them. Built around 1700 for Constantin Brancoveanu and rebuilt after WWI, it is a nice place to visit if you have two hours to spare. Although it is very close to Bucharest, the place is very quiet and the scenery is beautiful. The park, the lake and the buildings themselves are well taken care of. Unfortunately, the inside of the palace does not offer much to see, unless you are a fan of modern art.... read more

A very nice roadtrip through the mountains. On Friday afternoon we left Bucharest and headed towards Predeal via DN1. The trip was quite bad because it was very crowded after Comarnic, especially through Sinaia. On Saturday I went on one of the nicest drives yet: from Predeal to Brasov, via Rasnov and Poiana Brasov (where the view was beautiful), then North through the mountains up to Gheorgheni, West towards Praid and then back South, passing through Zarnesti and Rasnov. The villages there look very nice and there are quite a few fortified evangelical churches (in pretty much every large village). Also, the route from Gheorgheni to Praid is very nice (both the view and the drive). On Sunday we headed to Intorsura Buzaului and had a car crash in Prejmer... It was not too bad, but ... read more

Since it was my grandfather's birthday, all the family went to Bunesti to celebrate. My dad borrowed a Dacia Duster to see how it drives. On Saturday morning, me and my cousin went for some offroad testing (he took the Duster and I took his car, a Cielo). It was so much fun! My car is very good on a smooth road, but it is worryingly low for offroad driving, so I don't get to experience this too often... All in all, we went around for about two hours before going back to Bunesti. I don't really like the Duster. It works ok offroad, but the steering wheel is a bit fiddly on a highway and the gearbox is awful when driving in a city. Also, although imo it looks very good on the outside, the ... read more

Again, a nice roadtrip through the mountains. On Saurday the weather was rainy and we went through some thunderstorms and showers around Baile Tusnad. The road from Ojdula to Lepsa (DN 2D) is a very bad one (presumably they are working on it, but I didn't see it happen) so we made the 40 km in more than an hour. However, the region is very nice and all the lodges' back yards lead to the Putna river. After a long drive, we walked for an hour or so along the river. On Sunday we stopped at the Putna waterfall, then headed towards Braila (where there's nothing to see) and then back to Bucharest. Total distance: 768 km.... read more
