Having mastered the Porto bus and metro system we quickly traversed the city and met up with Tom Jayes and his parents at his flat. After completing some computer necessities and discovering that Birmingham City have returned to the premiership, we had toast and coffee at a local café then went for a another walk around the city to discover some more Porto churches including one which had a blue tiled exterior(azulejos, a speciality in Portual).

We arrived at the waterfront to have a delicious lunch with the Jayes at one of Tom’s favourite restaurants.

The afternoon was spent with a tour around Graham’s, one of the city’s many wine lodges and then a boat trip under the six bridges which span the Douro estuary.
