After some communication difficulties, we met up we Bob and Dinah Jayes who were visiting their grandchildren in Porto. It gave us the opportunity of updating the weblog and aquainting ourselves with Hannah, William being asleep throughout our visit.

We then used the Porto metro to transport us to the centre of the city where we climbed up another 225 steps to the top of the Torre dos Clérigos, looked round the cathedral and its cloisters, walked down through the old town, rode the elevator and funicular (Porto is very hilly) and walked across the top level of the Ponte Dom Luis 1 for spectacular views of the Rio Douro and surrounding areas of the city. The day was finished with a meal in a very friendly bar and exciting bus ride back to the campsite.
