The weather was showery all day but undaunted we went on one of the walks recommended by the campsite. We needed to do a fair amount of road work but were able to experience some of the many mountain tracks in this area. We also passed through the Dom Jesus (the stations of the cross) at Quintâo and the fascinating cobbled street village of Parelas with its vine trellis covered cobbled streets and grain stores called espigueiros.
In the afternoon we got lost on an overgrown path and had to retrace our steps and return to campsite via the road.
