This is where the prisoners lived in over-crowded accomodation.

This train track at Birkenau led to the gas chamber, where most of the prisoners went when they arrived here.

Most of the many wooden accommodation blocks were burnt down and this is all that remains.

This is where the prisoners got off the train and met the doctors who determined their fate. Most had to walk 1 hundred metres to the right to face their death.

The gas chambers were destroyed by the Germans who tried to hide what had happened here by blowing them up.
