01 Entrance sign
The entrance sign says 'Work brings freedom', the workers here were far from free, they were slaves/prisioners.

02 Security
Lots of barbed wire.

03 Wall of death
This is where many prisoners were shot.

04 Chimney
Chimney of the crematorium.

05 Accomodation blocks
This is where the prisoners lived in over-crowded accomodation.

06 End of the line
This train track at Birkenau led to the gas chamber, where most of the prisoners went when they arrived here.

07 Remains
Most of the many wooden accommodation blocks were burnt down and this is all that remains.

08 Watch Tower
The watch tower and the main entrance to Birkenau as seen from the end of the train tracks.

09 Judgement time
This is where the prisoners got off the train and met the doctors who determined their fate. Most had to walk 1 hundred metres to the right to face their death.

10 Ruins
The gas chambers were destroyed by the Germans who tried to hide what had happened here by blowing them up.
