Travelling from Laerdal to Skjolden we took another ferry from Fodnes to Mannheller. The town of Skjolden is at the end of the world's longest fjord, the Sognefjord. It is here the fjord meets the greatest mountain areas. We made a detour to view the Nigardsbreen glacier in the Jostedalstreen National Park and then to our hotel In Skjolden. We had a great view from our room at the Skjolden Hotel looking out at the fjord - what a beauiful spot to just rest for a couple of days and take in the surroundings.

July 3 - Took a drive to Sognefjell where we climbed high up the mountains (another winding road) but well worth the drive as we found spectacular views to the peaks in the Juntunheimen. We were above the tree line and could see several glaciers (also still a lot of snow on the ground)
