After a leisurely breakfast this morning, I headed over to the office to tie-up some loose ends before embarking on a T Bane (Metro) tour around the city vicinity. I haven't had much chance to ride on the T Bane over the past few days due to work commitments. So I was rather happy that we would be using the system to get to some of the places that we would be visiting today.

From Majorstuen, we took the T Bane to the final station at Frognerseteren where we continued with a slow uphill climb to Frognerseteren Restaurant. The restaurant had its roots traced back since 1891 when it was first opened for business. It commanded a fine view of the vistas below since the building was perched on a high ground overlooking the city. We had a satisfying lunch at the self-service restaurant which served wholesome pies, pastries and fine coffee on a wintry afternoon.

We continued our T Bane journey southeast to Holmenkollen station, home to the Ski Museum and Tower (separate charges apply). The area also housed the picturesque Scandic Hotel where we spent most of our time posing pictures outdoors. From Holmenkollen, we headed to Biermanns Gate where the Labour Museum was located. Unfortunately, the museum was only opened during weekends. Nevertheless, we were happy to chance upon this unique neighbourhood dotted by quaint, colourful houses set against an industrial backdrop.

The visit to Sognsvann was our final itinerary for today where a massive lake by the same name was located. We were wearing a wrong pair of shoes which made walking over the melting ice sheet a near impossible feat. For our safety, we decided not to proceed further and leave our travel plans as it is. Perhaps someday, we would be back again to conquer Sognsvann Lake.

My final dinner in Oslo was R's home-cooked meal consisting of rice, fishcakes, eggs and sambal chilli sauce. This was in my opinion the most delicious meal that I had over the past few days since it was crafted from scratch. As I looked back over the past week, this business trip was fruitful in many ways. I was blessed with great weather during my off-days from work.

R was such a gracious host from the minute I arrived at the airport till my last dinner with him today. I'm really thankful for him for showing me around as well as introducing me to the many interesting places to dine in Oslo City. I had fun and thank you R again for his nice hospitality.

Hope to see you again in Singapore soon!
