About this tour Mark begins this tour on the outskirts of Amsterdam in the small village of Durgerdam and shows how the Dutch have defended themselves against water for centuries. Durgerdam is made up of a string of colourful woden houses on an ancient dike / levee and is exceptionally pretty. The walk includes a look at the tiny drawbridge behind the dike next to the old church of the village. Next Mark takes you on a 5 minute scooter ride to the next stop though typical Dutch countryside of green fields and ditches, 5 metres below sea level! His camera is in a body harness so you see what he sees and he explains what is passing by.
