Our Boat
This boat looked like a derelict on the outside but do not be fooled. A veritible castle on the inside complete with throne! Well, sorry for the delay. When you travel lite and have no wifi access, this is what happens. So a few blogs at once to catch up. Once we landed we promptly went as scheduled to our houseboat. NO ONE WAITING.... So we went for a cafe and had a LARGE dutch pancake and a cappo. BTW my pancake was sliced apple and raisons. So what. Lol. We tried phoning but kept getting a doctors office. So we were stuck. We knew what houseboat so we planted our derrieres outside and waited, and waited, and waited......... zzzzzzzzz.
Ha ha only for an hour then our Irish contact showed up. Showed us the ropes and the toilet. The toilet.... I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A TOILET LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE.. the pics as proof.
Our freinds showed up a little later and we promptly opened up a bottle of vino... Did I say a bottle. hmmmmmmm ok more than one!
We toured around Amsterdam and experienced all the visual red light district stuff no photos allowed, but let me describe the scene.
Red light actually mean what it says. Red flourescent lites above the individual cubicles. Who woulda
The Kings Throne
So this is the throne. Complete with pedastal. To flush, you need to pump in the water from the back. The problem was I was hitting my head and the ceiling was to close! Alas the King was doomed to serfdom! or coulda thought... Not me. I thought it actually meant you know... Anyhowwwwww.... needless to say the girls were all shapes and sizes from the very obese to svelt looking and beyond. Did I say beyond. Let your imagination run wild and anything goes with clothes on. They tempt you by inviting you into their little cubicle, for a nominal fee of course. I have never been in the cubicle because my wife hmmmmm was there.... but from asking my learned collegue a price is set and so on and so on and so on......................................
Next it was the cafes you know the ones I mean. the legal ones. Well this little skipper fell ill after a puff or two and promptly fainted. No worries this happens all the time. A little ice on the back of the neck and a glass of sugar water and the happy camper was back to normal except for the brused nose and a little blood.
Pictures are not loading so I will fill in the blanks when I get back.
The house boat was spacious and workable in the sense that we had a Captains bed and we ho hoed,
The Kings Lair
I know, I know, this should be private, bur you have to know how the King and Queen lives! and blew the man down and lets just say that the boat had stabilising bars for the stormy seas.
We spent our days eating, exploring and drinking vino every night. Wine is so cheap and so gooood. For those of you lucky enough of receiving our video of the Heiniken brewerys you knew we were having a fine time. We sang and drank and played in the bar. The brewery was kind enough to offer us 3 beer each and you know who..... doesn,t drink so....... you guessed it I had the over flow.
We meandered to different parts of Amsterdam through the canals, tiny streets, and explored the world of craving and envy. finally deciding that ahh its time to leave and come back another time when we can spend more time visitng what we just touched, such as the Van Gogh Museum. O yah we also so an original one so culture was involved in our visit as well. Scratch off one more of the 100 things ·I want to do before I die.

Beer beer everywhere. Not a drop to drink.
It's great to travel with someone that doesn't like beer! I'm not so lucky... :-(
