Today we had to make the decision on the motorhome at Camperfun. Before that though I wanted to go back to Bosma campers and have another look at a couple of motorhomes that I liked, a Hymer and the Hobby, I needed to re-assure myself I was making the correct decision. The Hymer I liked even though the bed was a pull down over the cabin which is not my ideal layout but its a space saver making the motorhome under 6 meters in length. Climbing into the bed is not too bad as when you pulled it down it dropped low enough to make the climb into it not that big an ordeal. Vaughan had made his mind up that he didn't like it so that was that! The Hobby was also a great choice but the sticking point was the cost of getting the LPG conversion and then more costs in kitting it out, in fact if we bought from Bosma we would then have to spend the next week or more running around finding all the stuff you need like kitchen and bedding and we found it didn't stop there as there is tools, leveling blocks, hoses the
list goes on. So the decision was made, the Burstner at Camperfun was the ideal choice even though it was longer than I wanted, it was fine for a year and it came fully kitted out we just bought a few extra things that we liked personally and could take home to Australia with us.
We drove back to Hoogeveen to see the motorhome and to let Wietze know that we would take it. When we got there the garage was closed up, the motorhome was outside but no sign of life from Wietze and his wife only a couple of lads sitting outside the house. We asked the lads where he was and they said its his day off he has gone out for the day, oh great so now what. I'm pretty sure we said we were coming around Monday to let him know. Vaughan phoned him and Wietze said he thought we were just going to call him and he asked one of the lads to get the motorhome keys so we could have another good look over it. So all was good and we spent the next hour or more thoroughly going over the motorhome
to make sure everything worked that should and to make note of any little fixes required. There was about six small things that needed to be fixed and I know Wietze knew about four of them!
While in Hoogeveen we visited the local camping superstore and made note of a couple of things to add to the itinerary but first I wanted to have a thorough good pick through the Camperfun storage shed to see what stuff I could add to our new house on wheels that isn't already in there.
So the decision was made, now for the next stage and that was to take care of the financials, so that evening I set the wheels in motion along with a celebration meal and drinks to toast the beginning of a new adventure.
