Johns bike and sign Needed the sunblock as it was a scorcher - my knees are still red. Stopped off in Radviliskis to meet a brave young girl along the way. She had drawn some pictures of us on bikes and had a little porcelain gift for each of us plus the mother had brought some hand made cheese. We had a few piccies and then headed off to Siauliai (sounds like Showlay - well it does to me). Needed the escort for a long part of the journey as it was a new motorway that they were building...seemed to be on a gradual incline forever finishing off with a mammoth climb - just typical. The scenery and landscape has been amazing and it will hold memories that I'll keep forever...and it's only day 2! We had to sprint to make sure a dust storm didn't get us..we hit 28mph on the flat and luckily the dust storm disipated - the dust storm was my fault because I had just commented on how good the weather was and hence a dust storm blew up right in front of our eyes. Knees
Burnt knees few times when we had been sent onto the cycle paths...they are not so good.
