With family in Pordenone

After a wonderful nights sleep - the B&B at Casa di Mary is even better now, with what was the breakfast room now being converted to a third bedroom for Georgia - we found that someone had hit the car overnight (or maybe at San Dona, but we don't think it was here when we left Bologna and it wasn't whilst we were in the car). Oh well - thank God, Steven took full insurance.

We went to zia Isetta's house for a coffee and panettone - she has been unwell and now has a live in companion - and cousin Anna-Maria came over to say hi. Then cousin Renato arrived and we followed him to his house, where we had lunch with Zia Isetta, Renato and Sara, Silvia & her husband Stefano and Guilia (4yo), and Alessio (25). A wonderful day - we all talked nonstop (it certainly helps that Silvia is an English teacher, and Stefano also speaks excellent English).

We then had a lovely passigato (walk) around the town of Pordenone - a beautiful town controlled at various times by the Habsburg empire, the Venetian empire and Austria. (Footnote - I am the luckiest traveler in the world. As we walked, the heel came off my shoe. Just as I was wondering what to do, an English speaking lady came up to me and offered a small tube of superglue that she had in her handbag. Amazing!)

We left in a hurry, as we were then racing to see a concert in which Matteo Perissinotto (son of Esio, born 3002) was playing the piano. We made it just in time. He was incredible - very talented young man. The concert was in the large villa at Rorai Piccolo, which we have often wanted to enter!

Then to dinner with Anna Maria and her family. Again, a wonderful night with zia Isetta and with Daniele and Paola (born 1996) - their eldest, Francesca (born 1990) was away.
