Italy does not allow same sex couples to marry. Nor are same sex couples allowed to adopt or benefit from sperm banks. Much like the United States in the past, Italy debates whether or not to allow same sex marriage. This discrimination is causing problems for children who have two moms, and couples who wish to marry and have a child. Thus, many same sex couples are fighting for their rights. However, Italy still does not recognize their relationships. The Italian government called gay marriage a “a profoundly uncivil idea-a violence of nature against nature".

Attacks against immigrants, Italians of foreign decent, and Roma have been happening in Italy. Attacks vary from stabbing, shooting, and assaults to murders. These attacks are done by racist mobs. In the entirety of England racist assaults have been an increasing. However, these assaults have been happening continuously and at a high rate, so that Italy alone has the highest amount of racist assaults. A recent attack was that of a 50 year old man who fires in a street filled of venders. Thus, killing two people and wounding many. In order to solve this problem, Italy has tried to place harsher punishments on hate crimes and especially on crimes against immigrants.
