We arrive in Rome, and while Rome was not built in a day, our group tried to see it all in one day - the Vatican, St. Peter's Cathedral, the Colosseum, the Forum, the ruins and parks, shops and restaurants, and of course the people! The day started at 7:30 am, which had us practically first in line at the Vatican Museum. We were paired up with an excellent local guide, Maria Theresa, and she along with our "whisper earphones", provided us an entertaining and educational experience as we viewed some of the most world-renowned artwork, classical sculptures and tapestries.

Afterward, it was off to the Sistine Chapel, famous for its architecture, decorations, and the official residence of the Pope. As we walked, we had a clear view of the Papal Gardens and St. Peter's Square where the Pope gives his blessing every Wednesday and on special events.
